On August 28, two all-new sport sedans under Great Wall ORA—the ORA 5 Sport and the ORA 5 GT—were officially launched. The new cars had previously made their debut at the Chengdu Auto Show, positioned as youthful sporty family sedans. Limited-time trade-in price starts at 71,800 yuan.

The two cars take completely different styling directions. The ORA 5 GT has the most thorough sporty upgrade, with red decorative elements added to the front lip, side skirts, and rear spoiler, paired with red brake calipers and a large hollow sporty rear wing. The ORA 5 Sport focuses on a two-tone body, with a more restrained and enduring style.

Inside, the ORA 5 GT adopts a black-and-yellow contrasting sporty color scheme, covered extensively in suede-like material, and is equipped with exclusive ergonomic sport seats with GT logos on the headrests. Exclusive yellow stitching runs throughout the cabin, maximizing the battle-ready feel.

Powertrain is the biggest highlight this time. Both cars offer three powertrain choices: gasoline, hybrid, and pure electric. The gasoline version is equipped with a 1.5T engine, with a maximum power of 184 horsepower. The pure electric version is equipped with a 150kW motor and offers two battery options, 45.3kWh and 58.3kWh, with CLTC ranges of 480km and 580km respectively. The hybrid version features Great Wall's Hi2 intelligent hybrid technology. The chassis was tuned under the leadership of a European team led by a former McLaren engineer.

The two new cars were tuned throughout by a professional European chassis team led by a former McLaren engineer. Looking at the 100,000-yuan-class family sedan market, a combination of factory sport kits plus dual powertrain choices is indeed uncommon.

Quick review:
Factory-installed tuning parts, three powertrains to choose from freely, and a chassis tuned by a BMW team—ORA's move this time really nails the idea of "a young person's first sport sedan." The gasoline version has 184 horsepower, the pure electric version has a 580km range, and the GT version also has suede seats and red calipers. For 100,000 yuan, buying a factory hot hatch—what more could you ask for? That said, the GT version costs more than 10,000 yuan more than the regular version. Whether it's worth it depends on how obsessed you are with that sport kit and chassis tuning.
