On the eve of the New Year, SAIC-GM-Wuling welcomed another historic moment: on December 29, at the world's first lean intelligent manufacturing island-style factory, the 800,000th new energy vehicle of 2024 officially rolled off the line. This newly rolled-off vehicle is SAIC-GM-Wuling's intelligent flagship sedan — the Baojun Xiangjing.
At the same time, under the "One-Two-Five Project" launched by SAIC-GM-Wuling in the new energy era, its "Five Hundred Billion" dual-engine companies, Haoling Technology and Saike Technology, both achieved annual revenue exceeding ten billion: Haoling Technology, driven by intelligent mobile robots, overseas channels and direct-sales innovation, is expected to reach revenue of 13.7 billion yuan; while Saike Technology, which is deployed across the new energy industry chain including energy systems, smart electric drives and electronic control, saw its output value exceed 10.6 billion yuan.
An intelligent flagship over 5 meters long
As the first intelligent flagship sedan under the Baojun brand, the rollout of the Xiangjing not only means further upgrading of the product, but also signifies a substantial rise in performance and technology.
The Xiangjing has a wheelbase of 2,900 mm and body dimensions of 5,005×1,900×1,490/1,505 mm respectively. It will offer two powertrain systems: pure electric drive and plug-in hybrid. In terms of body dimensions, the plug-in hybrid version of the Xiangjing is slightly taller than the pure electric version.
At least judging from the parameters currently available, the Xiangjing has formed significant differences from models in the same family. And from the exterior, the Xiangjing's design leans more toward a luxurious flagship style, with a rather graceful and imposing quality, while also retaining sharper front and rear designs.
As a car that has just rolled off the line, strictly speaking, the time for disclosure of relevant information has not yet arrived, so what can be seen so far is only information such as the exterior. According to the introduction, the target group of the Xiangjing is "to satisfy the diverse needs of urban commuters, from young families to elite individuals, for high-quality mobility."
From its positioning, "intelligent flagship" means that this new car is not only equipped with dual powertrains, but also has very advanced intelligent technology configurations. It is expected to be equipped with systems such as Lingmou intelligent driving. In addition, official information also mentions that "'Xiang' not only conforms to consumers' desire to improve the quality of life, but also reflects a pleasant and comfortable experience; 'Jing' symbolizes the brand's new direction and an important step in product development, symbolizing Baojun's commitment to walking hand in hand with technology leaders to create a higher-quality life." It is expected that this new car will be officially launched in the first half of next year.
The "One-Two-Five" Project advances by leaps and bounds

Compared with the rollout of the Baojun Xiangjing, SAIC-GM-Wuling's "One-Two-Five Project" has now reached the harvest season: up to now, the "One-Two-Five Project" has planned a total of 138 projects, of which 45 have been completed and 93 are under implementation. The projects involve an investment of 29.3 billion yuan, and 8.14 billion yuan of investment has been completed. Comprehensive breakthroughs have been achieved in technology research and development, product iteration and industrial chain clustering, injecting strong momentum into local and industry development.
With technology as the guide, SAIC-GM-Wuling has not only successfully achieved new energy transformation, but also achieved fruitful results in new energy technology innovation — the Guangxi New Energy Vehicle Laboratory has joined hands with more than 50 first-class universities, research institutions and upstream and downstream industry chain enterprises, undertaken 47 major science and technology projects in Guangxi, established 22 sub-laboratories, applied for 1,043 patents, been granted 682 patents, participated in and published 109 standards, and won 13 science and technology awards at provincial and ministerial level or above.
Among the "One-Two-Five" Project, the "Five Hundred Billion" independent industries cover multiple fields such as power batteries, electronic control, electric drive motors, and intelligent mobile robots. With the comprehensive development of technological innovation, new energy, and intelligent technology, SAIC-GM-Wuling can be said to have reaped a great deal in 2024. In addition to completing the rollout of 800,000 new energy vehicles this year, SAIC-GM-Wuling also achieved cumulative new energy sales exceeding 2.4 million vehicles, firmly ranking among the global top three.
